Tags

Tag your resources for better organization and filtering. Tags can be organized into groups and scoped to different areas of the platform.

Accessing Tags

  1. Go to Settings > Organization
  2. Click Tags in the sidebar

Tag Scopes

Tags are organized by scope, determining where they can be used:

ScopeUsed For
CRMContacts, households, organizations
ResourcesDonations, pages, tickets, etc.
RevenueRevenue and expected revenue records
GlobalAvailable across all areas

Use the tabs at the top to switch between scopes.

Creating Tags

  1. Click Create Tag
  2. Enter the tag label
  3. Select a scope (CRM, Resources, Revenue, or Global)
  4. Optionally assign to a tag group
  5. Click Save

Editing Tags

  1. Find the tag in the list
  2. Click the edit (pencil) icon
  3. Update the label or group
  4. Click Save

Deleting Tags

  1. Find the tag in the list
  2. Click the delete (trash) icon
  3. Confirm by typing "DELETE"

Warning: Deleting a tag removes it from all resources that have been tagged with it.

Tag Groups

Organize related tags into groups for easier management and filtering.

Creating a Group

  1. Click Create Group
  2. Enter the group name
  3. Select the scope
  4. Click Save

Editing a Group

  1. Click the edit icon next to the group name
  2. Update the group details
  3. Click Save

Deleting a Group

  1. Click the delete icon next to the group name
  2. Confirm deletion

When a group is deleted, its tags are moved to "Ungrouped" - the tags themselves are not deleted.

Grouped vs Ungrouped

  • Grouped tags display with their group name as a prefix
  • Ungrouped tags appear in the "Ungrouped" section

Example display:

  • Grouped: Major Donors: Gold Level
  • Ungrouped: Newsletter Subscriber
