Import/Batches
Batch importing lets you add multiple donations, pledges, installments, contacts, households, organizations, or tickets at once, saving time when entering historical data or migrating from another system.
What You Can Do
- Add donations in bulk - Enter multiple one-time donations at once
- Add pledges in bulk - Create multiple recurring pledge profiles
- Add installments in bulk - Record payments against existing pledges
- Add contacts in bulk - Import contact records with addresses, emails, and phones
- Add households in bulk - Import household records with contacts, addresses, emails, and phones
- Add organizations in bulk - Import organization records with addresses, emails, and phones
- Add tickets in bulk - Import ticket records for events and ticketing forms
- Import from spreadsheet - Upload a CSV or Excel file with your data
- Update existing records - Re-import data to update records using reference IDs
When to Use Batch Import
Batch importing is ideal when you need to:
- Import historical donation data from spreadsheets
- Migrate data from another CRM or fundraising platform
- Enter multiple offline donations (checks, cash, etc.)
- Record pledges from a phone-a-thon or direct mail campaign
- Record installment payments received for existing pledges
- Import a list of contacts from an event or mailing list
- Import a list of households for family grouping
- Import a list of organizations for partner tracking
- Import a list of tickets for event registration
- Update existing records in bulk
TIP
For entering a single donation, pledge, installment, or contact, use the Add button on the respective page instead.
Two Ways to Add Data
1. Manual Entry
Add records one at a time using the form. Best for:
- Smaller batches (under 50 records)
- Records that need individual attention
- When you don't have a spreadsheet
2. Import from Spreadsheet
Upload a CSV or Excel file. Best for:
- Large imports (up to 15,000 records per file)
- Data already in spreadsheet format
- Migrating from another system
Getting Started
- Go to Manage > Batches
- Click Create to start a new batch
- Choose Donations, Pledges, Installments, Contacts, Households, Organizations, or Tickets
- Add records manually or import from spreadsheet
- Review your data
- Click Process Batch to finalize
