Revenue Splits
Revenue splits allow you to allocate a single revenue or expected revenue record across multiple funds. This is essential for restricted giving and multi-purpose gifts.
What Are Revenue Splits?
When the fund allocation for a gift needs to span multiple funds:
- $500 to General Fund
- $300 to Scholarship Fund
- $200 to Building Fund
Each allocation is a revenue split on the revenue record.
Revenue Splits vs Fund Designations
Revenue splits are fund allocations that live on revenue and expected revenue records. Fund designations live on resources (forms, sites) and are donor-facing — they represent the donor's stated intent when giving. When a donor selects a fund on a form, the system auto-creates a matching revenue split on the resulting revenue record.
