SMS Broadcast Recipients

The Recipients tab works the same way as for email broadcasts, but reachability is computed against SMS opt-in instead of email subscription.

The five inputs

  • Send To Audiences — pre-built audiences. Most common starting point.
  • Don't Send To — exclusion lists. Always wins over inclusion inputs.
  • Send To Segments — dynamic CRM segments. Re-evaluate at send time.
  • Send To Tags — static tag-based selection.
  • Individual Recipients — hand-picked contacts.

SMS reachability

A contact is SMS-reachable only if all of these are true:

  • Has a primary mobile phone number on file (landlines auto-filter out)
  • Has explicitly opted in to receive SMS from your organization
  • Has not unsubscribed (replied STOP, or used an in-app unsubscribe)
  • Has not been suppressed by your org or by carrier feedback

Unreachable contacts drop out at send time, even if they're included via one of the inputs.

Recipient Preview

The preview pane shows the live count of contacts that will actually receive the SMS after de-duplication and reachability filtering. Click into the preview to spot-check individual contacts before scheduling.

TIP

SMS reachability is much narrower than email reachability. A contact with a valid email and a landline will be email-reachable but not SMS-reachable. Always check the preview count before sending.
