Solicitors
Solicitors track who is responsible for securing donations. This helps measure fundraiser effectiveness and recognize top performers.
What Are Solicitors?
A solicitor is the person or organization that helped secure a donation:
- Board members who asked for gifts
- Development staff managing relationships
- Volunteers who made asks
- Peer-to-peer fundraisers
- Partner organizations that brought in the gift
Adding Solicitors
- Open the revenue or expected revenue record
- Go to the Manage tab
- Click Solicitors in the sidebar
- Click Add Solicitor or use Actions > Add Solicitor
Solicitors work the same on both record types — record who secured a pledge when the commitment is made, not just when the money arrives.
You can also add solicitors while creating the record: the single-record donation, pledge, and payment forms, the batch forms, and spreadsheet imports (numbered revenue_solicitor_* / expected_revenue_solicitor_* columns) all accept solicitors.
