CauseVox gives you two complementary ways to explore your data. Reports let you query any field in the system and export the results as spreadsheets — you define the filters, columns, and groupings. Insights are visual dashboards you build yourself by choosing from a library of widgets that show key metrics at a glance.

Reports vs Insights

Reports answer specific questions: "Show me all donors who gave over $500 last quarter." Insights show trends and patterns: "How is revenue tracking month over month?" Use reports when you need raw data or a filtered export. Use insights when you want a visual overview.

Query Builder Reports

The Query Builder is one of the most powerful tools in the platform. It can pull from any field in the system — including your custom fields and tags — so you can answer questions no pre-built report anticipates. You can:

• Choose a resource type — contacts, donations, revenues, pledges, tickets, and more
• Add filters — date ranges, campaigns, amounts, tags, custom fields, and any combination of criteria
• Select columns to include in the output, including custom fields you've created
• Sort and group results to organize the data exactly how you need it

Save reports for quick reuse, organize them into folders, or start from templates for common needs like end-of-year giving summaries, lapsed donor lists, or campaign performance breakdowns.

Insights Dashboards

Insights dashboards let you build your own visual analytics by choosing from a library of widgets — charts, tables, counters, and breakdowns — and arranging them however you like. Think of it as a mix-and-match system: pick the widgets that matter to your role, arrange them on a dashboard, and get a real-time picture of your data without writing a single query.

Built-in dashboards give you a head start:

• CRM Insights — contact growth, engagement trends, and supporter demographics
• Revenue Insights — giving patterns, donor retention, revenue trends, and year-over-year comparisons
• Campaign Insights — progress toward goals, fundraiser activity, and campaign performance

Every dashboard is fully customizable. Add widgets from any category — combine CRM metrics with revenue trends and campaign progress on a single screen — or remove the ones you don't need. Your dashboards, your way.

Quick Exports

Beyond full reports, you can export data directly from any list view in the platform. Filtering a list of donations, contacts, or tickets and clicking export gives you a spreadsheet of exactly what's on screen — no report setup required.

Importing Data

CauseVox supports batch importing of contacts, donations, pledges, installments, and organizations from spreadsheets. The import wizard handles field mapping and duplicate matching so existing records are updated rather than duplicated.
